Tree Swallow (adult & juvenile)
Earl Armstrong Road, Gloucester, Ontario
On my way to work one morning I found a large mixed-species flock of swallows, all lined up on a wire fence. Among the flock were two juvenile tree swallows (the brown one pictured above). I almost mistook them for bank swallows, which are similar in size and plumage, but the faint bluish flecks of pre-moult plumage gave away their true identity.
