Vireo olivaceus olivaceus
Britannia Conservation Area, Ottawa, Ontario
17 May 2009
Red-eyed vireos are common birds of the forests. They are more often heard than seen, singing in the mid-canopy where its drab green plumages helps to camouflage it. It is best located by listening for its song, which resembles the pneumonic "here-I-am-where-are-you."
